Message From Management
Western Canada Energy Ltd. is the product of an amalgamation of Blackpool Exploration Ltd. and Westbow Energy Inc. approved by the shareholders of both companies during meetings held on March 12, 2008.  This business combination has provided WCE with an expanded production and reserve base, a land resource of 60,000 gross acres and 27,500 net acres predominantly on the Peace River Arch, a substantial body of supporting seismic, and a drill ready inventory of 10 prospects to be evaluated by year end 2008.

Management and Board of Directors

Varoujan Basmadjian
Mr. Basmadjian, the Chairman of the Board of the Corporation, was granted a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University and started his business career as a stockbroker at Dominion Securities.  In the oil and natural gas industry, he has held the positions of President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director with Pegaz Energy Inc., Argo Energy Ltd., Green Maple Energy Corporation, and Everest Energy Corporation, all of which traded on the TSX Venture Exchange. 

Daniel P. O’Neill
Mr. O’Neill, Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation, obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the Royal Military College and served for three years in the Royal Canadian Air Force before commencing his career in the energy industry.  Mr. O’Neill has over 38 years experience in engineering, operations, and management of the upstream oil and gas industry.  He has formerly held the positions of Vice- President, Operations with Excel Energy Inc. traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange and President and Director with Barra Resources Ltd. traded on the TSX Venture Exchange. 

Ronald W. Shepherd
Ronald W. Shepherd is President, Chief Financial Officer, Corporate Secretary, and a Director of the Corporation. He obtained a geology degree and an M.B.A. from Queens University. Mr. Shepherd has twenty-eight years experience in the petroleum and mining industries, primarily as an executive with public junior companies. He has held the positions of Vice-President and Director with Cochrane Oil & Gas Ltd., and President and Director with Boca Resources Ltd. and Canadian Fortune Resources Inc.

Gordon F. Dixon, Q. C.
Gordon F. Dixon is a Director of the Corporation. Mr. Dixon, a Barrister and Solicitor, specializes in civil litigation and administrative law, and is in private legal practice with his own firm in Calgary, Alberta. He has been active in oil and gas exploration and production as well as the hard rock mining business in Canada for over 35 years and is currently Chairman of the Board of Fortune Energy Ltd.

Robert Chenery, P. Eng.
Robert Chenery is a professional engineer with an M.B.A. Mr. Chenery commenced his career in the oil and gas industry with Elf Aquitaine Group, rising to a senior management position. Thereafter, he co-founded a consulting firm that functioned in an oil and gas advisory role to bankers and institutional investors throughout North America. For the past 3 years, Mr. Chenery has been an advisor to the investment banking business. He is currently the Vice-President of Corporate Development with Oilexco Inc. listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

D. Leroy Beavers
Mr. Beavers, a Director of the Corporation, obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Montana and has been active as a landman in the oil industry for more than thirty years.  He was formerly the Land Manager with Ashland Oil Canada. More recently, he has held the positions of Director with Barra Energy Resources Ltd. and Vice-President, Land and Contracts with Carlyle Energy Ltd., both TSX Venture Exchange listed companies.
